Baden Continuation High School is is the only school in SSFUSD without a PTA/PTSA or student government to fundraise for field trips, and over half the students who attend this school are socioeconomically disadvantaged. Because of this, Baden students haven’t been on a field trip in years. The South San Francisco Education Foundation changed that this year.
In May 2023 we received a grant from the San Mateo County Park Foundation (SMCPF) to fund two field trips for Baden students to have inspiring and educational experiences at our beautiful county parks in the following school year. The first field trip in October was a thrilling experience at the San Bruno Mountain Park ropes course, where students practiced teamwork, built self-confidence, and faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
